Scholastic Book Order

If you would like to order Scholastic books online, you will need to enter the teacher code, HQHMZ.

AR Requirement

This month, students are expected to read an AR biography. Books were selected on March 29. Students need to take the AR quiz by April 30 with a score of 70% or higher. In class, students will be working on an essay about this biography, so students need to keep the book in their backpack.

AM Objectives

The goal is 10 more objectives than the previous month. The deadline will be April 20.

Baby Wipe Shortage

We are running low on baby wipes. We use these to clean up after messy projects, to clean our desks, and to wipe tables and shelves. Any donation of baby wipes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

State Report

State Reports were assigned today. Your student received a packet with all the information. There are two parts to this project: a brochure and a persuasive essay.

Project Deadlines:

March 29 - Research each state and select a state to move to. Fill out the "States Note Taking Sheet" on both states.

April 16 - Persuasive essay rough draft due.

April 20 - Final draft of the persuasive essay due and state brochure due.

Homework

Please keep the following assignments in mind for the month of April.

AR - Students will only be expected to read a biography for their AR requirement. All students picked out a "Who Was..." biography on March 29. Keep trait of 3 character traits and evidence to support those traits. We will be working on an essay in class about the AR book.

AM - Students will be expected to complete 10 objectives by April 20.

Work on the state brochure and essay due April 20!

Work on the science experiment due May 10!

Homework for April 19

Read for 20 minutes. If you are not finished reading your biography, then read that!
